Loving Kindness & Mental Workout

Hello Everyone,
I really enjoyed the exercise and I definitely think it was beneficial.  When I started the exercise and began listening to the voice on the track I went into a state of relaxation.  As I continued to listen the words and voice become soother and began to go into some kind of trance because of the words that were spoken and the background music.  This exercise was amazing because after I finished the exercise I felt as if I went out of the exercise in a happier feeling.  I definitely recommend this exercise to other individuals because it sooths the mind when completing the exercise.  I also felt has if I was looser and in a better mood after completing the exercise.  I felt as if my muscles were made of jello because the tightness was gone.  I also believe that this exercise will bring about an overall wellness because an individual will be able to experience positive emotions after the exercise.

Mental Workout is used to decrease troubling emotions that cause annoyance, hatred, panic, concern, uncertainty and doubt.  The benefits of this concept are constructive emotions such as endurance, loving-kindness, honesty, acceptance, and contentment.  It also provides improved resistance to mental suffering and physical disease and promotes well-being.  One of the exercises that I can input into my life for better psychological health is "The Subtle Mind."  This practice diminishes the constant mental movements of feelings, manner, and images.  If I practice this frequently, I will extend a witnessing awareness that subsequently progress toward the mind of clam-abiding.  An exercise that I could use for this is meditation, where I am in a quiet room with my eyes closed.  While this occurs I have a blank mind so that I can relax and feel calm.  This exercise will allow me to let go of life and just feel the relaxation that takes over.

Level of Wellness: Physically, Psychologically, and Spiritually

When it comes to physical well being, I would have to rate myself 7 out of 10.  I have a routine workout and I eating the correct foods on a daily basis.  The reason that I do not give myself a higher rating would be because I tend forgot to workout once and a while and sometimes I go back to eating unhealthy foods.  When it comes to spiritual well being I would rate myself 7 out of 10.  I definitely believe in a higher power and I try to use pray on an everyday basis.  I believe that spirituality gives me a sense of relaxation and because of this faith I do not put extreme amounts of pressure on myself.  My psychological well being would have to be rated as 6 out of 10.  The reason that I rate this so low because I tend to keep things inside instead of talking about emotions and feelings with others.

The goals that I would develop for my physical well being would have to be to increase the intensity of my exercise routines.  I also would make a commitment to run a marathon or cross country course within a certain time frame.  This would allow me to be more focused and allows for a goal to be reached.  The goal for spiritual well being would be to get closer to God and put more faith in his hand.  My goal for psychological goal would have to be that I would like to discuss my feelings and emotions with my wife.

The activities that I can do to accomplish my goals in the physical well being are to set obstacles such as marathons, weight classes, and etc.  In spiritual well being would be to attend church functions such as Bible studies, prayer groups, and etc.  Finally, in psychological well being I can talk with others that have the same issues that I have.  I could also write my feelings in a journal to help me understand what I am thinking and this gets me closer to expressing my feelings out loud.

The exercise was definitely beneficial.  It allowed me again to relax while completing this exercise or activity.  It also helped me focus after the exercise and showed me how important it is to work one task at a time.  After this exercise I realized that visualization is so important during this exercises.  They allowed me to see the different colors while I was doing the exercises and it helped me to release stress on a more comfortable level.  I also enjoyed the music and voice of the exercise because both were so soothing and that really helped me relax during the exercise as well.  I definitely recommend this exercise if anyone is feeling stress and the pressures of life.

Reflective Statement

Hello again,

The exercise Journey On really helped me understand how to relax and be in a calmer state.  After listening to this exercise I felt relieved and felt has if all the pressure that I had on me had been lifted off my shoulders.  Also, I was able to listen to this exercise and actually picture what the audio was announcing.  This exercise also allowed me to use muscle techniques to relax my muscles on a different level that I never felt before.  I definitely recommend this exercise to anyone that wants to feel that relaxation that they may rarely experience in their life.  This exercise allowed me to just stop the busy life that I have and realize that it is acceptable to sit even though I may have a million things to do.  I hope everyone enjoys the exercise as much as I did.
